INVITATION

Bilkent University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering proudly announces the 29th National Conference on Operations Research and Industrial Engineering (YA/EM'09). The conference will be held in Ankara, Turkey between 22nd and 24th June 2009, with the support of the Operational Research Society, Turkey. 

The aims of YA/EM'09 Conference are:

• To create a platform where the researchers from the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research field, as well as distinguished representatives of the business world can be brought together;
• To share academic and practical work produced;
• To effectively use the produced field knowledge and the accumulated experience for the benefit of the society by incorporating them into further improvement of science and technology.

The main theme of the YA/EM209 Conference is the new opportunities created by university and business sector partnership in a globalizing world, where technology and competition are at the forefront, and the importance of the human factor is continuously increasing. In addition to the presented papers, conference program will also include special sessions, panels, and student and industry project competitions. Since Industrial Engineering and Operations Research are both interdisciplinary fields, throughout the conference many national and international researchers and field workers will have the opportunity to present papers on a wide range of research topics as listed under "Paper Topics".
